Who You’ll Be Working With
Hi, I’m Jason Wiley.
When you schedule a consultation or maintenance visit with FireWise Horticulture Services, you will be working directly with me from the initial site evaluation through ongoing landscape care.
I’m a Colorado native and horticulturist with over 20 years of experience working in public gardens and climate-adapted landscapes across the country. My career has included leadership roles at institutions such as the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, the Portland Japanese Garden, and serving as Director of Horticulture at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture from Arizona State University and pursued advanced studies in Landscape Architecture at Colorado State University.
Coming from a proud family of firefighters, including my grandfather who served as Thornton’s Assistant Fire Chief for over 40 years, I bring a personal commitment to the intersection of fire safety and landscape care. I have worked on projects throughout Colorado’s Front Range and understand the importance of maintaining landscapes that are not only beautiful and biodiverse, but also better adapted to our region’s increasing wildfire risk.
FireWise Horticulture Services was created to help homeowners improve wildfire readiness through informed plant care, consultation, and maintenance without sacrificing the beauty or ecological value of their gardens.
